We will be getting the Spring 2010 season underway Monday, February 8th and running another awesome 10-game season until mid-April or so. Join us if you have that 42 itch that needs to be scratched mighty fierce

 And the winner is...
Find out Monday night as we head on over to C-Hunts for the Fall 2009 Final between TEA and DAM starting at 7:30pm.

Starting 0-5 and whining all the way, Dale and Mark (DAM) have rattled off 8 straight wins at the right team to make it all the way to the finals. Poking fun at the liberal community, Jody and Drob (David Roberts) (TEA), have been a solid duo for sometime now placing in N42PA tournaments and making their presence well known in the league. Congrats to both teams as they battle for the championship!

See you all on Monday, C-Hunts, 7:30pm. (C-Hunts is right off burnet no more than a mile North of 183.

 Come on out and play!
The league season starts on September 7th and will go for 12 weeks. There will be 10 games with 2 BYE weeks. The league is free to anyone that is new and only $5 for reoccurring players. All proceeds go toward club functions.

There are several folks floating around looking for partners still. We have some newcomers and regulars still looking.

Come on out on Monday to Ginnys where we are back on a regular basis and find yourself a partner. The league season is intense at times, but its a lot of fun.

Email me with your team name and ill get you registered!

 Here comes the fall league
"Bout time" is what we are all saying around 42 headquarters. There will be a mad rush of 10 games with your partner (over the course of 3 and a half months) against the best 42 players in the city.

Past winners of the league have gone on to become elected officials or at least complain about elected officials.

The league is fun. The league is serious. Play is set to begin on Monday, August 31st--hopefully at Ginny's Little Longhorn on Burnet Rd. League nights are scheduled for Mondays at 7:30 but most folks are pretty flexible when someone's schedule prevents playing then.

More details will come. If you are interested in playing, e-mail Jeff Reed (jrreed50@gmail.com) and he will handle things from there. We also recommend joining the "Austin42" yahoo group to stay abreast of the details and to see when you can come on out and get some practice on. It will be fierce, but you will be better off for it.

 Summer League 2009
Howdy there.

The Austin 42 Club is gearing up for its annual fun Summer League. We will be playing 88 this time around. First game will be on Monday, July 6th and the league will run for 6 straight Mondays. Very loose, much less hardcore than regular seasons.

The club will also be stretching its legs and playing at different bars each week.

So if you have interest or want to sign up e-mail msobin@gmail.com

See you at the tables.

Terry and Chris win it all
Terry and Chris have won the Spring League season destroying Mike and Crystal 7-2, 8-10, 8-0. This is the second title for Terry and the first for a new comer.

Excellent game play gentlemen and looking forward to seeing you around the tables in the fall.

 Playoffs are here!
Congratulations to the top 12 teams for making it to the playoffs. As you can see from the rankings, the difference between many teams was barely 10 points.

Thanks to everyone for working hard getting your games in and having a good time with the league this season. Look for the playoff games happening over the next few weeks and our playoff party coming up near the end of the month.

Congrats to the Fall 2008 League Champs!
Great job Terry and Molly battling through a tough regular season schedule and going the distance in the playoffs as the low seed to win it all. They bested Jordan and Dale in the finals 2-1.

I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable break. Look for the next league season to start in late January!

Great job both teams!

 Summer League Starts July 14th
Monday, July 14th will be the opening day of the summer league. This time around we will be having a new player league that will last only 5 matches over weeks (Until August 11th).

We are hoping to see a lot of new faces in the new player league that will give everyone some equal footing. The summer league is always laid back and much less competitive than the fall and spring leagues. We encourage anyone that hasn't played with the club yet, but has interest to show up between now and July 14th at Ginny's on Mondays to find a partner. There are plenty to choose from! Bring your college buddies, wives, husbands, parents, grandparents, neighbors, whomever. Its a smooth rolling 5 weeks of domino fun.

Violet Crown was a great success!
The 2nd tournament hosted by the Austin 42 Club was a great success this year! We were able to have it at Scholz Garten and the environment was exciting and unique!

Overall we had 12 teams competing, half of what we had just a year ago, but the intensity was awesome. Congratulations to Dave Roberts and Mike Nunez for claiming first prize. They went undefeated in the tournament. Second place went to Misty Reed and Mike Sobin, the 2007 Fall League Champions.

Thanks to Lone Star for your continued support of the Austin 42 Club, Scholz's Garten for the use of space, and the organizer who helped prepare for the event.

 Look for Changes
If you havent noticed, there is now a dry erase board setup in Ginnys for folks to sign up to play. Once 4 people get on the list, grab some rocks, a table, and get it on!

Also, we have setup a tip jar near the dry erase board. Lots of effort goes into the club, both financial and physical. Every little bit helps us improve what we can offer the club and ensures we will be around for more time to come.

Thanks!

 Quiet Season?
Its been a relatively quite season. However many of the new members to A42C are racking up points and taking control of the leader board. Look for things to heat up in the final stretch of games as there are 8 teams on the playoff bubble with a spread of only 25 points. Things are about to get KRAZY!!!
