We are less than two weeks away from our big Saturday tournament(and Friday night warm-up).

Here are the details:
Location for both Friday warm-up and Saturday:

October 21st & 22nd.

Friday Night:
This will be a 5 game round robin, we will start play at 7pm, registration from 6-6:45pm. Cash prizes for top 4 places.
Entry fee: $10 per person. ($20/team)

Saturday:
There will be a 5 game round robin in morning for seeding. then the afternoon will be single game double elimination. Cash prizes for top 4 places. Entry fee: $20 per person. ($40/team)
Play starts at 9am, registration from 8-8:45am.

Anyone willing to come out Friday night early to help set up is greatly appreciated. Same thing Saturday once things wind down.

Again, anyone wanting to play, just let me know and I can help you find a partner. Or use this yahoo group and put up a post.

§ random/haphazard teams assigned by League Coordinator (you will have the same partner for the whole season)
§ new people can play with the person that recruited them to the league
§ can't play with someone that you played with in the past 4 seasons
§ no two new people will be paired together
§ same rules for points as the regular season
§ we will use the website to track points/games
§ 5 game season
§ all teams go to finals bracket, seeding based on points
§ number of places to be determined based on the # of teams
§ no dues for this summer season
§ This will NOT count as the first season for any new people. They will still be able to play in the fall league for free.

It’s been a great spring season for 42 so far. As our regular season is ending, I wanted to update everyone on the playoff plan for this year. This is an exciting year since playoffs will be different than in prior years.

We are going to have TWO playoff brackets for the spring 2011 League! (one championship bracket and one consolation bracket) Each bracket will have 16 teams so EVERYONE will have playoffs games this year.

N42 PA points will be awarded for 1st – 4th place in the championship bracket and 1st and 2nd place in the consolation bracket.

So hurry and get your final games of spring 2011 season in as soon as you can. We will start the playoffs on Monday, April 18, 2011. Ginny’s will be open.

Come out to Ginny’s next Monday (April 11) even if you are done with your league games. There should be plenty of 42 pickup games happening. (And it’s good practice for the playoffs.)

Playoff games will be announced by next weekend (April 16/17). So that gives everyone plenty of time to get their regular league games finished.

Let me know if there are any questions about playoffs or if you need help getting your final games rescheduled.

I am also working on the plan for summer dominoes. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

As promised, matches for the rest of the season have now been posted.

Please check your schedule to make sure that you are not playing the same team twice. Because we have an odd number of teams, there is one team with a bye each week. The teams with byes are then scheduled for a game on a bye week (March 14) so they can play 10 games as well.

Everyone should have 10 games against different teams on their schedule now. Please let me know if you see any problems.

The spring 2011 season is open on the website. You should be able to sign up and add your team. If you have any issues with the site please let me know. I already registered the teams for people that emailed me or signed up on the list last Thursday.

Please also note that many people are getting an error message when they try to sign up for the site saying that the user ID they selected is taken. But these are actually going through and being registered. So if you get this error message, only sign up one time and then let me know.

Note that we added in a practice week before the season starts and an extra bye week before playoffs. Starting Monday, January 17, 2011, Ginny's will be open on Mondays from 5pm until 11 or 12 pm.
